In some cases, color is a necessity. It is possible to stain the etched granite with an oil based color mixture to the client's specifications.
An excellent example of the durability of the etching. This is a timeline of the local firehouse's 100-year history. The walkway is outdoors, and is subject to daily weather, fire boots walking on it daily, and fire trucks being parked on it.
