In some cases, color is a necessity. It is possible to stain the etched granite with an oil based color mixture to the client's specifications.
An excellent example of the durability of the etching. This is a timeline of the local firehouse's 100-year history. The walkway is outdoors, and is subject to daily weather, fire boots walking on it daily, and fire trucks being parked on it. The etched granite and ceramic tiles have stood up very well to this abuse.
Done for a local city hall construction, showcases the possibilities of etching into hardwood. This was a maple slab, etched with the City Seal.

Graphically, this was one of the more complex jobs we have done. The size (48"x96") made the design daunting as the entire project had to be done in high resolution. The crest was photographed from the client's personal collection, and the ironwork design and diamond pattern was drawn by hand to scale, and then scanned in a large format scanner. The images were then put together like a puzzle.
Professional sports are an image-based industry. We were recruited to do the Christmas presents for the players of the Sacramento King's basketball team, and did further collectibles work for them. These are black marble plaques, etched with photographs and logos.
Granite offers many uses in the signage market. This building has an exterior facade of Absolute Black Granite and requested a large granite sign to match the building's elements. The company's logo was then etched into a 3/4" Black Granite slab, and bolted to the building's exterior.
Mirror is a very exciting medium. For this job, the image of Muhammad Ali was etched into the back of the mirror, removing the silvering, and allowing light to travel though the mirror. In this private gymnasium, a light source was placed behind the mirror wall and the image illuminated. This is a very useful medium for retail signage.
This law firm used laser etching to outfit their office with their new logo. This was done very quickly, cost-effectively and looks gorgeous.
Donor walls provide a very practical usage for laser etching. The names of hundreds of people can be permanently etched into granite, metal or glass, often with a gracious artistic flourish for a cost much lower than alternative methods.

One of our more ambitious projects, this landmark water feature comprises 7 granite slabs, each 4’ x 8’ at over 400 pounds, and greets arriving and departing passengers at San Bernardino International Airport, recently dedicated on the site of the former Norton Air Force Base. A quotation from a local dignitary is combined with a graphic representation of a squadron of three C-141 aircraft, the primary plane that operated at the Base before its closure.
A portion of this school's construction was earmarked for an art budget. A series of windows were then commissioned with quotes and images of birds in flight.
